According to reports, Kenya’s Independent Police Oversight Authority (Ipoa) has started an investigation into the murder of renowned Pakistani journalist Arshad Sharif. According to local media sites, Mr. Sharif was mistaken for someone else when he was killed by police.
To oversee the operations of the police, the Ipoa, a civilian organization, was established. A rapid reaction team has been dispatched to investigate the murder of the journalist, the organization’s president Ann Makori told journalists in Nairobi, the country’s capital.
