Pastor Adeboye Urges Nigerians to Stay Vigilant Against Fire Outbreaks
The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has advised Nigerians to take necessary precautions against fire outbreaks, warning of possible dangers in the coming months.
Speaking during the church’s February Thanksgiving Service at the Throne of Grace Parish, Lagos, he emphasized the need for prayer, awareness, and proactive measures to prevent disasters.
Pastor Adeboye encouraged individuals, businesses, and government agencies to prioritize fire safety by properly handling electrical appliances, using fire-resistant materials, and following fire prevention guidelines.
A Call for Caution Amid Rising Fire Incidents
His warning comes as Nigeria has witnessed several fire outbreaks in markets, homes, and public places, leading to loss of lives and property.
“At the start of this year, one of the prophecies was to pray against fire outbreaks, storms, and floods,” he stated.
“We’ve only spent one month, yet we’ve seen numerous fire incidents worldwide. Nigeria is not exempt, and we must be prayerful and cautious.”
He urged farmers to avoid bush burning while preparing their land, warning that carelessness could lead to devastating consequences.
“Don’t joke with any form of naked fire around you,” he said.
God’s Covenant and Faithfulness
Delivering a sermon titled ‘The Covenant-Keeping God,’ Pastor Adeboye reminded the congregation that obedience to God brings divine favor and protection.
“If you obey and keep God’s covenant, He will make you His peculiar treasure,” he said, citing biblical examples of individuals who experienced blessings through obedience.
He also spoke about RCCG’s global growth, attributing it to God’s faithfulness rather than personal achievements.
“Some think it’s because of my academic background, but RCCG has grown beyond places I’ve ever visited. Even in countries where church buildings are not allowed, God has opened doors,” he shared.
Encouraging believers to remain steadfast in their faith, he assured them that God remains faithful to those who trust in Him.
“There are many who pray and fast more than us, yet God has shown us extraordinary love. If you hold on to His covenant, He will make you His treasure,” Pastor Adeboye concluded.
