Chioma Obasi, the sister of popular Nigerian Afrobeats star Patoranking, tragically lost her life in a gas explosion at her home. The devastating accident claimed Chioma’s life instantly, while her husband, George Obasi, passed away from his injuries on Wednesday, September 11, 2024.
The heartbreaking news was shared by media personality Cutie Juls on Instagram, where she revealed that the explosion occurred shortly after the couple celebrated a housewarming and their child’s birthday.
In her post, Cutie Juls highlighted how deeply Patoranking loved his sister and called on friends and loved ones to support him during this difficult time. She shared, “Remember when I mentioned that Patoranking’s sister passed away in a gas explosion and the husband and child were fighting for their lives? Sadly, the husband couldn’t make it either. He just passed away. Patoranking tried everything, even purchasing large amounts of blood to save his brother-in-law, hoping to prevent his nephew from becoming an orphan. He loved his sister dearly, and his friends should check on him.”
As of now, Patoranking and his management team have not issued any public statements about the tragic incident.
