Rudeboy Celebrates Brother Jude Okoye’s Release from Jail with a Heartfelt Message
Paul Okoye, famously known as Rudeboy of the iconic Psquare duo, is celebrating his big brother Jude Okoye’s return home after spending two months behind bars.
The release comes just a day before Jude’s 48th birthday, bringing an emotional twist to what has been a turbulent period for the family.
Jude’s legal troubles began earlier this year when he was arrested by Nigeria’s anti-graft agency, the EFCC. Authorities accused him of being involved in questionable financial dealings—figures as jaw-dropping as over ₦1.38 billion, $1 million, and £34,000 were reportedly under scrutiny.
For weeks, Jude remained in custody as legal back-and-forth delayed his bail. But finally, on April 23, he walked out of detention.
Paul wasted no time expressing his happiness on Instagram, writing, “Jude is finally out after 2 months… all their efforts to frustrate his bail have finally collapsed. Welcome home, brother @judeengees! And happy birthday!”
The celebration, however, is only one side of the story.
Court records show that Jude and his music label, Northside Music Ltd, are accused of questionable financial practices that allegedly stretched from 2016 to 2023. The EFCC claims that various property acquisitions and foreign currency transactions tied to Jude raise serious red flags.
To make things even more complicated, the case also includes a petition from his younger brother and former bandmate, Peter Okoye (aka Mr. P). Peter reportedly accused Jude of mishandling music royalties and secretly setting up another company while still managing Psquare—allegations that further deepened the rift in the famous family.
Though Jude maintains his innocence, and his legal battles are far from over, his release has sparked plenty of chatter across the country.
For some, it’s a moment of relief. For others, it’s a reminder of how messy things can get when family, fame, and money collide.
One thing is certain: this saga isn’t over yet.
