Nollywood star Peggy Ovire has reacted to the ₦100 million lawsuit filed against her by fellow actor Taiye Arimoro, calling his accusations misleading and fabricated.
Arimoro had claimed that Peggy assaulted him on November 11, 2025—hours after his contract expired at 11:59 PM. He alleged that he attempted to leave the set but was stopped by the production manager, and another vehicle blocked his exit moments later. Feeling threatened, he went live on Instagram to document the situation.
According to him, the confrontation intensified at the estate gate, where Peggy and her team allegedly cornered him. He said his tyres were punctured, he was surrounded, and he sustained injuries, including bruises, bite marks, and a fractured jaw.
Peggy, however, debunked his narrative through a letter issued by her legal team. They claimed Arimoro had twisted the events to gain sympathy and that his attempt to leave was simply an effort to run off before police arrived. They insisted Peggy did not assault him, stating the only contact was a light push after he allegedly tried to deflate her tyres.

Her lawyers further argued that Arimoro’s Instagram Live was a calculated move to sway public opinion and that the CCTV clips he released were edited to support his version of events. They dismissed claims of mob action, violence, or severe injury as entirely false.
According to the statement, the matter is currently being handled by the police and the Actors Guild of Nigeria.
Sharing her stance in an Instagram post, Peggy reminded the public that staying quiet does not mean she is powerless.
She wrote:
“Until the police investigation is concluded, let it be known that my silence should not be mistaken for cowardice.”
