In a viral video, Nigerian singer Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, shared his perspective on humility, emphasizing the challenges he faced when people took his humility for granted. Asake expressed his belief that being excessively humble often leads to being undervalued.
According to the musician, humility is often undervalued, and he believes it can lead to being overlooked. Drawing from his personal experiences, Asake emphasized that projecting ego can make one more highly regarded and perceived as unapproachable.
In his own words:
“For me, humility feels like a waste of time. It’s not often appreciated. In the grand scheme of things, life is all about perception, at least that’s how I see it. It’s my world.

I’ve been in situations where I tried to let people define who I am through humility, but it wasn’t appreciated. As an artist, if you approach things with humility, sometimes people take you for granted.
But if you carry yourself with ego, they see you as less accessible, and strangely, they end up liking you more. People are more interested in what you’re doing than you showing them humility. So, just focus on doing what you need to do.” 🎤✨
