Manchester City’s manager, Pep Guardiola, confirmed an injury to Jack Grealish during their 6-2 victory against Luton Town on Tuesday, February 27.
Guardiola opted to include Jack Grealish in the starting lineup for the FA Cup 5th round clash against Luton Town at Kenilworth Road, but the English player encountered a setback.
Unfortunately, the 28-year-old England international had to be substituted in the 38th minute of the FA Cup match due to the injury. Jeremy Doku replaced him and seamlessly filled the gap left by Grealish’s absence.
As a result of this injury, Jack Grealish will miss the upcoming Manchester Derby between City and United scheduled for 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 3.
Following City’s victory over Luton Town, Coach Guardiola mentioned that Grealish’s injury “looks like it [a recurrence of the groin injury].” He expressed hope for a smooth recovery this time.
On a different note, Manchester City midfielder, Mateo Kovacic, emphasized that Kevin De Bruyne, the club’s influential midfielder, deserves recognition with a Ballon d’Or.
Throughout the years, Kevin De Bruyne has showcased his prowess as a midfielder, notably in his exceptional ability to provide assists. In Manchester City’s 6-2 triumph over Luton Town on Tuesday, the 32-year-old Belgian midfielder delivered four assists, highlighting his remarkable contribution to the team.
Reflecting on De Bruyne’s career, Kovacic remarked, “Kevin’s career is amazing; a player that deserves to have a Ballon d’Or.”
