Valentine Ozigbo, a prominent figure in Anambra State politics, has officially stepped away from the Labour Party (LP), marking a significant shift in his political journey.
Making the announcement on Wednesday via his 𝕏 handle, Ozigbo revealed that he had personally informed the party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, as well as the LP National Chairman, of his decision.
Explaining his reasons, he stated that recent developments have made it clear that it is time to forge a new path for Anambra State. According to him, this move is not about party affiliations but about prioritizing the people.
In a heartfelt statement titled “A New Chapter: A Bold Step for Anambra’s Future,” Ozigbo expressed his unwavering commitment to the progress of the state. He emphasized that his involvement in politics has never been driven by personal ambition but by a deep belief in the potential of the people.
Reflecting on his decision, he stated, “Now is the time to build something new, something bold, something that truly aligns with the hopes and aspirations of every son and daughter of Anambra.”
Ozigbo urged his supporters to stay steadfast, assuring them that what lies ahead is even greater than what has been left behind.
“Our journey is just beginning. The fire for a better Anambra burns stronger than ever. And together, we will rise, we will build, and we will win. This is our moment,” he declared.
