The Lagos State Police Command issued an apology and clarification following a misunderstanding surrounding the arrest of Nigerian Disc Jockey, Obianuju Catherine, widely known as DJ Switch.
In a statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, on his former Twitter account, it was clarified that the individual arrested was DJ Commissioner Wysei, not DJ Switch.
Hundeyin also extended apologies to DJ Switch and various media outlets for any confusion caused by the mix-up.
Earlier reports, not from Channels Television, had circulated claiming DJ Switch’s arrest for alleged assault. However, DJ Switch promptly refuted these claims, emphasizing her stance against violence towards law enforcement.
Taking to her handle, DJ Switch expressed her initial shock at the arrest but has since acknowledged and accepted the Command’s apology.
