The shooting death of Takeoff in Houston has sparked an investigation.
On Tuesday afternoon, the police revealed that the Migos rapper had been shot and killed outside 810 Billiards & Bowling during a press conference. Following a private function at the bowling alley, officers were alerted to a “shooting in progress” shortly after 2:30 a.m.
Troy Finner, the chief of Houston’s police department, began by stating that he spoke to Takeoff’s mother, who had flown in from another city. He praised Takeoff before saying, “We stand with them in this city and this police department.”
“I had numerous calls from Houston, and everyone praised what a wonderful young kid, how calm he is, and what a fantastic artist this is.”
Finner stated that he didn’t want the incident to have a negative impact on the hip-hop scene. He said, “The hip-hop community sometimes gets a poor rap. We must regulate ourselves. There are so many talented people. Make a united front and stop anyone from destroying that sector.
The Homicide Division’s Sgt. Michael Arrington reported that Takeoff was declared deceased at the scene. A 23-year-old guy and a 24-year-old woman were sent to the hospital with less serious wounds.
A large crowd of roughly 40 individuals gathered close to the venue’s entrance after the private party finished. Before they left, there was a fight that resulted in gunfire. Anyone with knowledge is being urged to come forward by the police so they can crack the case.
Arrington stated, “We want to bring justice to this family. “They’re dealing with a lot right now, and all we can do is hope that y’all will reach out and help us in any way to lead to evidence that will help us apprehend and seek charges and an arrest of the individual guilty for Takeoff’s death,” the statement reads.
Someone knows exactly who it was, and Finner continued, “I’m extremely convinced that someone is going to come forward.”
More than 10 rounds were fired, according to TMZ, from at least two separate firearms. Before shots are fired, Quavo is heard arguing with someone on film.
Hip-hop artists including Rick Ross, Gucci Mane, SZA, Ciara, Desiigner, and Rich the Kid, who wrote a moving tribute to his “best friend,” are among those mourning the tragic loss.
Rich the Kid wrote, “Today I lost more than a brother.” I find it impossible to believe it’s my twin, my best friend, and everything else. Before we were successful, the most modest person I know had no difficulty sharing shoes and clothes! I already miss you; you didn’t deserve that! I’m crying and I’ll always love you, brother.
