In an intriguing and somewhat spiritual turn of events, members of the main opposition party, the PDP, resorted to prayer on Tuesday as they anxiously awaited the verdict of the presidential election tribunal concerning the 2023 general elections.
The PDP staff gathered in their chapel, located within the complex of their party’s headquarters, around 1 pm, seeking divine intervention in the unfolding situation.
As a quick recap, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had previously declared the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Tinubu, as the victor of the 2023 election held on February 25, 2023. However, both Atiku and the PDP, as well as the Labour Party and its candidate, Peter Obi, have raised concerns about the legitimacy of the electoral process that led to Tinubu’s presidency and questioned his eligibility to run for the position.
With all eyes on the presidential election tribunal and the set date of Wednesday, September 6, rapidly approaching, the question on everyone’s mind is whether the prayers of the PDP will yield the outcome they hope for. It’s a moment of anticipation and uncertainty as the nation waits for the tribunal’s decision.
