Nkosi Nathi’s DNA Revelation Sparks Encouragement for Fathers
Renowned South African film director Nkosi Nathi recently shared a heart-wrenching experience after a DNA test revealed he is not the biological father of his wife’s newborn daughter.
Nkosi took to Instagram on Monday to recount the emotional ordeal that has left him deeply traumatized. He explained that nine months ago, he was overjoyed to learn he would become a father and had been doting on the baby girl since her birth.
However, an incident led them to conduct a DNA test, which confirmed he was not the child’s biological father.
Nkosi decided to share his story to encourage other men to consider DNA testing. “Today was supposed to be my first Father’s Day celebration, but I’m shattered beyond words,” he wrote. “Nine months ago, I received the news that I was going to be a father. I cared for my unborn child, and she became my world. Her birth on May 20, just a day before my birthday, was a life-changing experience.”
He continued, “After an incident, her mother and I agreed to do a DNA test, and the result came back negative. I’m not her father. I’m sharing this to encourage other brothers: despite everything, I still want to be part of a better and responsible generation of men.”
Nkosi emphasized the importance of not letting the situation overwhelm him, stating, “We have a lot of life to live. The support from my family has been incredible. I am traumatized but stable, on a healing journey, and taking care of my mental health. There are some exciting projects coming up, and I can’t wait to share them with you. The work doesn’t stop, and I will continue to be…”
This heartfelt revelation not only highlights Nkosi’s personal strength but also serves as a powerful message to men about the importance of clarity and responsibility in parenthood.
