President John Dramani Mahama has ordered a thorough investigation into allegations of drug trafficking and money laundering at Kotoka International Airport.
This comes after Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, a member of parliament, raised concerns during a press conference about two suspicious flights allegedly linked to illegal activities.
In response, President Mahama reassured the public that the matter is being taken seriously. He has instructed key agencies—including the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC), the Police CID, the National Investigations Bureau (NIB), and the National Security Coordinator—to work together with Rev. Fordjour to uncover the truth.
Expressing his stance on the issue, the President stated on Facebook, “We will not tolerate the use of Ghana as a transit or destination for drug trafficking.”
He also mentioned a recent operation by the NIB that resulted in the seizure of narcotics worth $350 million.
Authorities have promised to keep the public informed as the investigation unfolds, reaffirming their commitment to fighting drug-related crimes and maintaining transparency.
