President Bola Tinubu has wrapped up his travels to the Netherlands and Saudi Arabia, touching down back in Abuja. He arrived at the presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport on a Wednesday morning.
Tinubu was greeted at the airport by ministers, senior government figures, and security officials.
During his time in the Netherlands, Tinubu was invited by the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte. There, he engaged in substantial discussions with the Prime Minister, along with separate meetings with His Royal Majesty, King Willem-Alexander, and Queen Maxima. Alongside these diplomatic engagements, Tinubu also took part in the Nigerian-Dutch Business and Investment Forum. This event brought together leaders from both nations to explore potential collaborations, particularly in agriculture and water management for sustainable farming practices.
Following his Dutch sojourn, Tinubu attended a special World Economic Forum (WEF) meeting in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, held from April 28-29. The focus of this meeting was on Global Collaboration, Growth, and Energy for Development. At this gathering of over 1,000 leaders from various sectors, Tinubu and his team seized the opportunity to discuss his Renewed Hope Agenda for Nigeria.
However, there was a brief period of uncertainty about Tinubu’s whereabouts after the WEF meeting, which led to speculation. Clarifying the situation, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed that Tinubu is currently in Europe. Furthermore, Onanuga assured that Tinubu is set to return to Nigeria on Wednesday, May 8th.
