A Nigerian priest recently stated that there has to be more African participation in the Catholic Church before Pope Francis’ Tuesday trip to the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The table must include us Africans. According to Father Stan Chu Ilo, Africa has 236 million Catholics, making it the continent with the world’s fastest-growing church.
He continued by saying that no African cardinals hold any important positions inside the church.
Father Stan stated that the Pope wants Africa to have a voice in an interview with Sister Rosemary Nyirumbe, a Ugandan nun dubbed the African Mother Teresa.

He said, “I have never seen Pope Francis so enthusiastic as I witnessed him at this online discussion involving over 3,000 African youth.”
We must concentrate on how we would build the church and our society on the shoulders of these young people, the pope believes, and I am equally sure of this.
The Pope’s arrival, according to Sister Rosemary, is vital because he may “offer a sight of hope to individuals” who have endured hardship for a “long time.”
The crisis in the east of DR Congo is currently getting worse and is being started by armed militia groups.
The Pope will also travel to South Sudan, which has experienced years of strife.
