Royal Family member has moved to America with his wife, Meghan Markle.
Despite the fact that he has relocated almost every aspect of his life to the United States, there are new concerns that Prince Harry will never be granted US citizenship.
Meghan Markle and Prince William’s brother have returned to the United States in the hope of finding a quieter life away from the scathing media in the United Kingdom.
While this has been mostly true, with their international popularity growing, there are growing concerns that Prince Harry will not be able to stay in the country indefinitely.
According to The Sun, he has been warned that he may never be granted a Green Card or full citizenship because he admitted to using a variety of recreational drugs throughout his life.
Harry had described his experiences with cocaine, marijuana, magic mushrooms, and ayahuasca, all of which are either illegal or heavily regulated in the United States.
A lawyer has warned Prince Harry that he will face additional difficulties as a result of these remarks, and the matter has even raised questions about how he was granted his current visa.
“If the Prince admitted to any immigration officer that he had previously used illegal drugs, he would be deemed ineligible for a visa,” said Kaitlin Davies, the solicitor.
“If Harry formally admits to using cocaine, he will almost certainly never be able to obtain a Green Card or become a US citizen unless extraordinary circumstances exist.”
There is debate over his admissions
While there is little evidence that Harry used the drugs, there is now a renewed debate about what constitutes a true admission.
Despite publishing the statements in his memoirs, it’s unclear if that’s enough to force the US to withhold citizenship, and he may need to admit to an actual immigration officer for the claims to be used against him.
