Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi has broken his silence over the rape allegations against him, firmly declaring his innocence.
The Moroccan international is currently facing a legal battle after prosecutors in Nanterre, France, requested that his case proceed to trial.
Speaking to Foot Africa, Hakimi said he remains composed despite the public scrutiny.
“I am calm. Being falsely accused is terrible and unfair — I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. I know the truth will come out,” he stated. “I have nothing to blame myself for, and those who know me understand that. My focus remains on my family and football.”
The allegations date back to March 2023, when a 24-year-old woman accused Hakimi of assault at his home in Boulogne-Billancourt while his wife and children were away. Reports claim he also covered her travel costs.
Despite the ongoing investigation, the 25-year-old has continued to play for both PSG and the Moroccan national team. The case has attracted global attention, with football fans and the wider public closely following developments as the legal process unfolds.
