The singer of “Shey You Dey Whine Me Ni,” Austine Emmanuel, aka Austine De Bull, has unveiled a brand-new music video. The artistically vibrant video, which was made by TG Omori, honors the Ogoni culture of the performer.
The talented director TG Omori, popularly known as Boy Director, who has created the videos for some of our favorite songs on his resume, tweeted in October that he would love to meet the musician and direct a music video for the song. The song video is now available.
Before the music video for his debut song, “Shey You Dey Whine Me Ni,” went viral on social media in October, Nigerians knew nothing about Austine De Bull, a gospel artist from the Ogoni region of Rivers State. In the viral video, women dressed in traditional Ogoni garb circled around while Austine De Bull performed the currently popular Nigerian slang song “Shey You De Whine Me Ni,” interspersing it with his Ogoni language Kana.
