Regina Daniels has spoken out from the heart, asking Nigerians to stop dragging her mother, Rita Daniels, into her marital issues.
In a recent video shared on Instagram, the actress addressed the wave of criticism directed at her mother following her fallout with her husband, Ned Nwoko. The situation escalated after reports surfaced that Ned had allegedly ordered the arrest of Regina’s brother and vowed not to release him unless she returned home and agreed to rehab — claims that have stirred intense reactions online.
Regina explained that her mother had nothing to do with her marriage decisions and that she alone chose to marry Ned despite her family’s warnings. “The main reason for this video is to say, please stop insulting my mom,” she began emotionally. “My family warned me not to marry him, but I didn’t listen because I was in love.”
The actress went on to share how deeply her mother has sacrificed for her family. “She’s the best thing that ever happened to me. She’s my god on earth. For seven years, my mom held it down. She tried, and she’s still trying. You all insult her, but she doesn’t deserve it,” she said tearfully.
Regina revealed that she once left home in the middle of the night determined to marry Ned, even against everyone’s advice. “I was going to harm myself if I couldn’t marry him. I really believed he was the love of my life. Everyone warned me, but I was blinded by love,” she admitted.
She also addressed claims that greed influenced her marriage. “Stop saying I married out of greed. That’s not true. We were not broke. My mom could never take money from a man for her child. I was already providing for my family through my work. God used me to bless my mom,” she explained.
Regina ended her message with gratitude and love for her mother. “Please stop insulting my mother. She’s the best woman on earth. She warned me. Everyone did. But I made my choice. I was young, in love, and I thought I knew what I was doing.”
Her words paint a raw and emotional picture — one of love, mistakes, and the fierce bond between a mother and her daughter.
