According to one journalist, Rep. George Santos is attempting to appease the Barbz by introducing a new bill named after Nicki Minaj that is all about vaccines.
Kadia Goba, Semafor’s political reporter, tweeted out some news she claims to be privy to a piece of legislation the New York congressman has allegedly thrown into the House of Representatives for consideration as a would-be law bearing Nicki’s name.
Ahem.
Rep. George Santos just dropped seven bills in the hopper. Among them, The Minaj Act, named for — yes, you guessed it — rapper Nikki Minaj that establishes a development period for new vaccines in order to generate public confidence.

“Ahem,” she writes. Rep. George Santos recently introduced seven bills. The Minaj Act, named after — you guessed it — rapper Nicki Minaj, establishes a development period for new vaccines in order to build public trust.”
We’ve looked through Congress’ official website and Rep. Santos’ official page, which tracks which bills he’s sponsored or co-sponsored, but we can’t find this new bill anywhere. The House is back in session today, so Goba may have gotten a sneak peek before it was released to the public.
The bill would be an intriguing play by the embattled Republican, who has been mired in controversy (due to his numerous lies) since day one.
Still, he appears to be attempting to curry favor with Nicki’s ardent fan base already — just look at Twitter to see how much they love the move… and, by extension, Santos. Of course, Nicki’s history with vaccine skepticism dates back to the pandemic.
Remember, when the vaccine was first being rolled out, she made a big deal out of her cousin and alleged side effects from the vaccine… a saga for which she took a lot of heat.
She now has good old GS in her corner, and she appears to enjoy this as well. She liked a tweet about the news. We’ve reached out to Santos for comment, but have yet to hear back.
