Golden Globe nomination is a new accomplishment for Rihanna.
The song “Lift Me Up” from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has earned the vocalist her first Golden Globe nomination. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced on Monday that the song had been nominated for Original Song – Motion Picture at the 2023 ceremony.

Lady Gaga’s “Hold My Hand” from Top Gun: Maverick and Taylor Swift’s “Carolina” from Where the Crawdads Sing is the songs that Rihanna competes with. “Ciao Papa” from Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio and “Naatu Naatu” from RRR are two other songs nominated in this category.
In the sequel to the 2018 Marvel superhero film, “Lift Me Up,” a memorial to the late Chadwick Boseman plays at the end credits.

The first song Rihanna has written in six years is called “Lift Me Up,” and it was co-written with Tems, Ludwig Göransson, and Wakanda Forever director Ryan Coogler. She also provided the soundtrack with the song “Born Again.”
Coogler said in a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter how they were able to secure the famous musician for the soundtrack. Rihanna, dude, we knew she was at a stage in her life where she was concentrating on many things-focused on business, focused on parenting, which is a major element in our movie. “For this song, it worked out beautifully, just as we were hoping it might,” he remarked.
Setting the stage for her much-anticipated comeback, Rihanna. With the release of her ninth studio album just around the corner, she will perform as the halftime show headline at the 2023 Super Bowl.
The 80th Golden Globe Awards will be telecast on NBC on Tuesday, January 10, with Jerrod Carmichael serving as host.
