After 76 years, luxury watch brand Rolex is bidding farewell to its official store in South Africa. The company confirmed to local newspaper News24 that the store will close its doors in June.
According to Rolex, shifts in local markets and circumstances no longer justify having an official affiliate in South Africa. However, they reassured customers that they will still be “active in the region” through their retail network.
Since 1948, the Rolex store has been a prominent presence in South Africa. With this change, all Rolex retailers in the country will now coordinate directly with the head office in Geneva.
