Ruben Amorim Confident Manchester United Can Win Premier League by 2028
Manchester United manager, Ruben Amorim, has expressed his unwavering belief that the club can clinch the Premier League title by 2028. The last time the Red Devils lifted the coveted trophy was during the 2012-2013 season under the guidance of legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
Under Amorim’s leadership, the team currently sits 13th in the Premier League after 24 matches, but the manager remains optimistic about the club’s future. With an upcoming away match against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, Amorim is focused on steady progress and the long-term goal of returning Manchester United to the top.
When asked about the potential to win the Premier League by 2028, Amorim said (via Fabrizio Romano): “Yes, we talk about that. Our focus is to win the Premier League, and we can change everything in a few years. Right now, we are in a difficult position, but we need to work every day, step by step.”
In a recent pre-match press conference, Amorim outlined the importance of player sales as part of the club’s future strategy. While he acknowledged the positive impact of recent signings, such as Ayden Heaven from Arsenal and Patrick Dorgu from Lecce, he emphasized the need for further adjustments, particularly in strengthening the team’s attack.
The club has already facilitated a loan move for Antony to Real Sociedad during the January 2025 transfer window, and Amorim expects more moves of this nature to occur during the upcoming summer transfer window.
“It’s simple here,” Amorim stated. “To make progress, we need to SELL players. You know the rules better than I do. Our focus now is to win the games in front of us, and then we can shift our attention to that.”
Despite the current challenges, Amorim remains determined and confident that Manchester United will return to their glory days in the Premier League soon.
