Manchester United’s manager, Ruben Amorim, has highlighted the importance of setting high standards for his players as he prepares for the Carabao Cup quarter-final clash against Tottenham Hotspur.
Amorim revealed that Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho’s inclusion in the squad will depend on their performance during the final training sessions.
Both players were absent from United’s recent 2-1 victory over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium. After the match, Amorim reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining strict expectations for performance and readiness.
When asked about their chances of featuring in the upcoming match, Amorim said, “We have one more training session, and their selection will depend on how they perform. I expect every player to give their best, so it’s up to them to show they’re ready.”
In a separate development, Amorim addressed Marcus Rashford’s comments following his omission from the City game. Rashford had stated that he was “ready for a new challenge,” sparking speculation about his future.
Amorim responded, saying, “He’s right about needing a new challenge. We’re all facing one. This is a crucial time for us, and I hope every player is prepared to step up and deliver.”
As the quarter-final approaches, all eyes will be on Rashford and Garnacho to see if their efforts on the training ground secure them a spot in the squad for the showdown against Spurs.
