Madagascar’s authorities have closed schools and restricted movement ahead of the arrival of Cyclone Freddy on Tuesday.
Tents, ropes, chainsaws, and other supplies have been sent by the national disaster management office to the eastern districts most likely to be affected.
On Monday, the storm caused minor damage to the island of Mauritius, flooding beachside hotels.
