A Tanzanian man is in critical condition after taking a selfie with an elephant, which then attacked him.
According to authorities, it was part of a herd that had escaped a conservation area in the northern Manyara region and was eating farm crops in one of the villages.
The elephants became agitated after a group of locals approached them while taking selfies, according to the regional police commissioner.

“The man has been admitted to Kiteto District Hospital for treatment.
He has made some progress “George Katabazi stated.
Human-wildlife conflict is common in Tanzania, where dry spells frequently cause wildlife to stray onto farms in search of food.
