Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye recently welcomed his Rwandan counterpart, Paul Kagame, to a basketball game in the capital city of Dakar.
The game, held on Sunday evening, featured Senegal’s AS Douanes and Rwanda’s APR Basketball Club, both competing in the Basketball Africa League.
Kagame’s visit to Senegal marks one of the early diplomatic engagements since Faye, aged 44, assumed office as Africa’s youngest democratically-elected leader in April.
According to the Rwandan presidency, Kagame’s trip aims to strengthen bilateral ties and foster cooperation in various sectors, including trade, tourism, and governance.
