Nollywood actor Taye Arimoro has taken actress and producer Peggy Ovire to court over an alleged on-set assault, seeking ₦100 million in damages and a public apology.
According to reports, the incident happened on November 11, 2025, after Arimoro’s contract ended at 11:59 PM. He claims he was prevented from leaving the set, with his car first stopped by the production manager and later blocked by another vehicle. Feeling unsafe, Arimoro went live on Instagram to record the situation.
The confrontation allegedly intensified at the estate gate, where Ovire and her team reportedly confronted him. Arimoro says he was surrounded by several individuals, suffered injuries including a fractured jaw, bite marks, and bruises, and claims his phone was tampered with during the incident.
His lawyers stated that the events infringed on his personal rights, including freedom of movement and dignity, and caused emotional and financial harm. They are now demanding a public video apology on all of Ovire’s social media platforms in addition to the ₦100 million compensation.

Peggy Ovire was given seven days to respond to the matter, but she has not issued any public statement.
Arimoro shared a post addressing the situation, writing: “@peggyovire PRE-ACTION NOTICE. In light of the incident referenced in this correspondence, you have been served. Kindly forward all responses to my solicitors as indicated.”
