During a performance in Tokyo on Friday night, Taylor Swift had a slight mishap on stage.
This marked her third of four performances in Japan as part of her highly anticipated return to the stage on her record-breaking Eras Tour. Swift entertained a crowd of 55,000 fans at the sold-out show held at the Tokyo Dome, showcasing several of her greatest hits.
A video of the incident was shared by the X account (formerly Twitter) @tswifterastour, capturing the moment Swift tripped while walking down a roof, which is a part of the set on stage. Typically, Swift perches herself on the roof covered in fake grass while singing to the crowd.

The X account @tswifterastour shared an update, revealing that Swift “accidentally tripped on the steps of the folklore cabin.” This cabin is a replica of the one where Swift recorded her Folklore album, located in New York’s Hudson Valley.
According to the social media account, Swift mentioned, “My life flashed before my eyes.”
On Friday, Newsweek reached out to Swift’s publicist for comment via email.
Fans flooded the comment sections of the social media posts with expressions of concern and admiration for the singer. “I love the Errors Tour,” one fan quipped, playing with words.
Another fan remarked, “I’m really glad that she wears that safety harness strap because if she didn’t have it and she lost her balance just a little more that could have ended in a nasty fall.”
“Oh no, I hope she’s okay! Trips happen to the best of us, but I’m sure she handled it with grace like the pro she is,” added a third person.

During her recent performances in Tokyo, Taylor Swift faced another slight mishap. On Wednesday night, she nearly fell off her chair while performing her song “Vigilante S***.”
The singer-songwriter misjudged the placement of a chair she was dancing on during the performance and was seen stumbling momentarily before regaining her balance.
A circulating video on X captured her briefly hovering in a squat position before gracefully steadying herself and continuing the performance seamlessly.
Swift’s concerts in Japan followed her attendance at the 52nd Grammy Awards on February 4. She made history by winning Album of the Year for her record-breaking Midnights, marking her fourth win in the category.
Her triumph didn’t end there, as she also secured the award for Best Pop Vocal Album, marking her 13th Grammy win. During her acceptance speech, Swift revealed that she had secretly been working on her next album, The Tortured Poets Department, set to release in April. In her February 7 performance in Japan, Swift shared that she had been crafting the new album “since right after” Midnights.
“I’ve been working on it for about two years, I worked on it throughout the U.S. tour. And when it was perfect, in my opinion, when it was good enough for you, I finished it,” she expressed. “I’m so, so, so excited that soon you’ll get to hear it and we’ll get to experience that together. I’m over the moon that you guys care about my music. It still blows my mind.”
Swift’s surprises continued as she revealed that she had considered announcing her upcoming record in Tokyo if she didn’t win at the Grammys. She told the audience that if she didn’t win anything at the awards show, she planned to unveil The Tortured Poets Department during her Tokyo performance.
“My backup plan was I going to do it tonight in Tokyo,” she shared with the crowd.
