Singer Yemi Alade has voiced her concerns about the Lagos State government’s actions, suggesting they discourage investment in the state’s real estate sector.
In a recent Instagram post, Alade criticized the government’s demolition of houses in the Mende area, highlighting the impact on residents and the real estate market.
She expressed disappointment at the government’s ongoing demolitions, stating that it makes life harder for citizens and diminishes the value of real estate in Lagos, deterring potential investors.
In a follow-up post on Monday, Alade called on the government to consider refunding affected legal buyers for the land they purchased. She urged transparency in the approval process for building plans and criticized the short notice given before demolitions.
Alade emphasized the need for better communication from the government to avoid causing unnecessary distress to residents.
