Former Minister of Finance, Seth Terkper has acknowledged that payments made for the faulty ambulances were incorrect for which his then deputy, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson is being tried according to dailyguidenetwork.com.
Mr. Terkper also acknowledged the fact that per the agreement for the delivery of the ambulances, before his then-deputy wrote the letter of request for the establishment of the letters of credit, no contract was signed.
Mr. Terkper responded to Mr. Dame when asked that was it not his case that the payment of ambulances were incorrect by stating that it is the responsibility of the Ministry of Health to ensure that the provision relating to the signing of the contract is made before payments.
Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, Sylvester Anemana( former Chief Director at the Ministry of Health) and Richard Jakpa( private businessman) are facing trials with charges related to causing a financial loss of €2.37million to the state through a contract to purchase 200 ambulances for the Ministry of Health.
