In 27 of the country’s 36 states, flooding has inundated almost 90,000 Nigerian houses. According to the officials, there have been about 500 fatalities and 1.4 million displaced due to the floods.
The worst floods Nigeria has seen in ten years are currently occurring, according to Matthias Schmale, the UN Humanitarian Coordinator for Nigeria.
