Dana Schwartz and Ian Karmel’s story began when Ian invited Dana to appear on his podcast. They’d been following each other on Twitter and were able to virtually connect for the episode. Dana recalls being instantly captivated; however, they had yet to meet in person. They kept in touch by texting and talking on the phone whenever they could. While the pandemic prevented them from going on a “real” date at first, they knew they were meant to be together. Ian rented out a private movie theater after they moved in together. That night, they had their first official dinner-and-a-movie date, watching Dana’s favorite film, You’ve Got Mail. Ian then proposed over ice cream.
Dana and Ian’s wedding, planned by BK Events, embraced their playful personalities while celebrating their Jewish culture in a modern and elegant Los Angeles setting. The ambiance was provided by the Ebell of Los Angeles, with rich woods, ornate bricks, iron chandeliers, and magnificent ceilings making an old-world statement. Absolutely stunning! They exchanged vows under the chuppah, and Dana recalls being overcome with emotion while dancing the Hora in front of all the important people in her life. Sister Blooms created stunning floral installations and bouquets, and Mandee Johnson was on hand to capture every momentous occasion!
