Due to inclement weather, SpaceX has canceled the launch of Kenya’s first earth observation satellite.
The Falcon 9 rocket was only 29 seconds away from blasting into space from the Vandenberg Air Force Base in California.
On Saturday, another attempt will be made.
Due to inclement weather, the launch has been postponed twice this week.
Kenya’s Taifa-1 satellite is one of 51 satellites and orbital vehicles set to launch on the Transporter 7 mission.
It will collect data for agricultural, land, and environmental monitoring.
The satellite would be the African continent’s 50th. So far, 14 countries on the continent have launched satellites into space, with many opting for commercial companies such as SpaceX for their launches.
