Moses Itauma Warns Jake Paul Ahead of Showdown With Anthony Joshua
Rising British heavyweight Moses Itauma has sounded a loud alarm for Jake Paul as the American prepares to face Anthony Joshua on December 19 — a matchup he boldly described as “suicide.”
During a livestream that pulled in over 50,000 viewers, the 20‑year‑old undefeated fighter didn’t sugarcoat his thoughts.
“Jake, please think again. This is suicide,” Itauma said, insisting that Paul has absolutely “no idea what’s coming” when he steps in against a seasoned, two‑time world champion.
Having shared multiple sparring sessions with Joshua, Itauma predicted what he called “the scariest knockout you’ve ever seen,” warning that Paul is about to feel a level of power he’s never encountered. Itauma, known for his 10 knockouts in 10 professional fights, said Joshua hits “three times harder than anyone Paul has ever fought.” He even offered to spar with Paul “just to show him real power.”
Taking his warning a step further, Itauma questioned whether any paycheck would be worth it if Paul left the ring unable to remember his own name.
Former WBA champion David Haye has echoed similar concerns, urging organisers to reconsider the bout for Paul’s safety.
Still, the eight‑round heavyweight clash is set to go ahead at the Kaseya Centre in Miami, streaming live on Netflix. The fight marks Joshua’s return to the U.S. and is already projected to deliver one of the biggest earnings of his career.
Their first face‑off in Miami highlighted the dramatic size difference — Joshua standing at 6’6” and towering over the 6’1” Paul, who maintained his usual confidence.
“I just have to avoid that one shot for eight rounds, and I believe I can,” Paul said, adding that he’s “ready to die in the ring” to win and is already eyeing a future showdown with Tyson Fury.
Joshua fired back with a calm but chilling response: “If I’m being honest, I’m going to break his face, break his body, and walk right through him.”
