President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Engr. Chukwuemeka Woke as the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of the National Oil Spill Detection and Response Agency (NOSDRA). Additionally, Dr. Adedeji Ashiru has been appointed as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority (OORBDA).
This announcement was made in a statement on Wednesday by Tinubu’s official spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale.
Engr. Woke brings a wealth of experience to his new role, with a background in engineering, environmental expertise, and politics. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical/Petrochemical Engineering and has previously served in various capacities within the environmental, safety, and operations departments of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). Engr. Woke has also held significant positions such as Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area in Rivers State and Chief of Staff at the Government House in Port Harcourt.
Dr. Ashiru, on the other hand, holds a Doctorate degree in Engineering from the Common Wealth University, UK. He has a proven track record of leadership, having led a consortium of reputable companies and earned recognition for his professional achievements.
President Tinubu has expressed confidence in the abilities of the newly appointed Chief Executive Officers to drive positive change and ensure the sustainable growth and development of their respective agencies. He emphasizes the importance of transparency in their operations, expecting them to uphold the highest standards of accountability and integrity.
