President Tinubu Arrives in Tanzania for Energy Summit
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, to attend the Mission 300 Africa Energy Summit, which begins on Monday. He landed at 10:20 p.m. local time (8:20 p.m. in Nigeria) on Sunday and was welcomed by Tanzania’s Minister of State, Ali Suleiman Ameir.
The two-day summit brings together leaders and organizations, including the African Union, African Development Bank Group, and World Bank, to discuss ways to achieve universal energy access across Africa.
Summit Highlights
On the first day, energy ministers from participating countries will present their national energy strategies, showcasing plans to achieve universal energy access within five years. Nigeria will use this platform to highlight its ongoing efforts and initiatives in energy delivery.
The second day will feature African Heads of State endorsing the Dar es Salaam Energy Declaration. This agreement outlines a unified strategy to drive Africa’s progress in achieving reliable and sustainable energy solutions.
President Tinubu will deliver a national address, emphasizing Nigeria’s leadership in clean energy and its commitment to integrated energy solutions for the continent.

Special Adviser on Energy, Olu Verheijen, stated that the President will highlight Nigeria’s dedication to clean energy initiatives and its role in advancing Africa’s energy goals.
The President is expected to return to Abuja immediately following the conclusion of the summit, as confirmed by Special Adviser on Information, Bayo Onanuga.
