President Bola Tinubu is likely shifting his planned two-country visit to Japan and Brazil from Thursday to Friday.
Sources at the Presidential Villa revealed that his Thursday was packed with official duties, including hosting World Trade Organisation Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala. While no formal announcement has been made, the change appears to accommodate his busy schedule.
Originally, Tinubu was set to leave Abuja on Thursday, August 14, with a brief stop in Dubai before heading to Japan. There, he will attend the Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9) in Yokohama from August 20 to 22.
The conference, themed “Co-create Innovative Solutions with Africa,” will explore ways to boost Africa’s economy, improve its business environment, attract private sector investment, and promote sustainable development. Discussions will also address peace, stability, and human security across the continent.
Tinubu’s itinerary in Japan includes attending plenary sessions, meeting Japanese government officials, and holding talks with top executives of companies investing in Nigeria.
