Nigerian media personality Toke Makinwa has opened up about her early experience as a new mum, sharing why she stopped breastfeeding just three weeks after giving birth.
The actress, who welcomed her daughter Yakira Eliana in August 2025 at age 40, revealed the reason during a chat with fans on Snapchat. When asked why she wasn’t breastfeeding, Toke responded candidly, saying her milk supply stopped unexpectedly.
“Because my breast milk output stopped after three weeks. Any other question?” she replied.
Her revelation comes shortly after she addressed ongoing speculation about her baby’s father. Responding to a fan who suggested her child’s dad might be Muslim because of the baby’s name, Toke clarified that Yakira is a Hebrew name meaning “beloved, precious, and someone of great worth.”
“He’s not,” she wrote. “Yakira is a Hebrew name — beloved, precious, and someone of great worth.”
Through it all, Toke continues to embrace motherhood with her signature blend of honesty, grace, and confidence.
