Nigerian media star Toke Makinwa has addressed a fan’s comment suggesting that her baby’s father is a Muslim.
Toke, who welcomed her first child — a baby girl named Yakira Eliana — in August 2025, has kept the identity of her child’s father private. However, a curious fan recently commented on her TikTok video, speculating about her daughter’s name.
The fan wrote, “I think Yakira’s dad is a Muslim.”
Toke quickly responded, clarifying that her daughter’s name has Hebrew roots, not Arabic.
She replied, “He is not. Yakira is a Hebrew name — it means beloved, precious, and someone of great worth.”
Beyond the curiosity around her daughter’s name, Toke has also spoken openly about the deep emotional healing that motherhood has brought her.
Having lost her parents in a tragic fire as a child, she revealed that becoming a mother has helped her reconnect with parts of herself she didn’t realize still needed healing.
In a heartfelt post on X, she wrote, “My daughter brought me healing. She’s helping me heal from my childhood trauma and from grief I thought I had overcome. God knew I needed this.”
