Gunmen Kill APC Chieftain Oluwatosin Onamade in Lagos
Tragedy struck in the Ijede area of Ikorodu, Lagos, as Oluwatosin Onamade, a prominent figure in the All Progressives Congress (APC), lost his life in a brutal attack. The politician, who had his sights set on the chairmanship position of Ijede Local Council Development, was fatally assaulted on the night of Saturday, March 8, 2025.
His brother, Oluwafemi Onamade, revealed that the attackers had been monitoring the deceased for some time before carrying out their deadly mission.
According to him, two armed men dressed in black stormed Oluwatosin’s residence and attacked him right at his doorstep. He recounted how the assailants first fired gunshots, but when the bullets seemingly had no immediate effect, they resorted to using machetes, inflicting fatal wounds to his head and face.
Oluwafemi further shared that this wasn’t the first time his brother had been targeted. In 2021, he survived a similar attack, and some individuals linked to that incident remain in custody, though justice has yet to be served.
Following that earlier attack, he recalled how political banners and campaign materials were vandalized across the community, including a large banner at the APC secretariat in Ijede.
Authorities are investigating the recent incident, and the community remains on edge as they seek justice for the slain politician.
