US President-elect Donald Trump announced late Sunday that Tom Homan, former ICE Director and well-known advocate for strict immigration measures, will join his administration to lead border security efforts.
“I’m excited to announce that Tom Homan, a dedicated leader on Border Control, will serve as our ‘Border Czar,’” Trump shared on his Truth Social platform. “I’ve known Tom for years, and he’s the best at ensuring our Borders are secure.”
Homan’s role will focus on overseeing deportations of undocumented individuals to their home countries.
The 78-year-old Trump has committed to initiating the largest deportation effort in U.S. history as a top priority. During his campaign, he often criticized undocumented immigration, using pointed language to emphasize its impact on the country.
