Etisalat by e& UAE sends more than 4,000 radio and digital communication units, valued at $5.4M
The UAE announced on Friday the delivery of telecommunications equipment as humanitarian assistance to “reconstruct Turkey’s telecommunication infrastructure in earthquake-affected areas.”
“Etisalat by e& UAE has announced the shipment of telecommunication equipment worth AED20 million ($5.5 million) as humanitarian assistance to rebuild Turkey’s telecommunication infrastructure in earthquake-affected areas,” according to the Emirates News Agency.
The group stated that the step comes as an extension of a “previous initiative launched by the e& group, which affirms its keenness to participate in the “Gallant Knight / 2″ campaign, initiated by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to support the earthquake-affected people in Türkiye and Syria,” according to the agency.

“Over 4,000 radio and digital units to reactivate damaged mobile phone networks and restore disrupted services” are among the items.
In February, the Emirati Etisalat Group announced “free calls from its UAE network to Syria and Turkey for a week as part of its humanitarian assistance to the people of the two countries affected by the recent earthquake.”
As part of Operation Gallant Knight 2, the UAE sent a total of 5,848 tons of aid to Turkey and Syria via 209 cargo planes, and approximately 4,000 cases were treated in its field hospital in Gaziantep, according to the UAE Defense Ministry on Thursday.
Operation Gallant Knight 2 was launched on February 7 on the orders of UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to assist those affected by the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.
