A U.S. court has given the green light for Mona Faiz Montrage, also known as Hajia 4Reall, to have her passport returned, allowing her to begin the process of deportation to Ghana after serving her prison sentence.
Montrage, a popular Ghanaian influencer, is currently serving a 12-month sentence at the Federal Detention Center in Philadelphia. She pleaded guilty to conspiracy charges related to a fraudulent scheme involving stolen money.
Her legal team submitted a request on November 1, 2024, seeking the return of her passport to facilitate the self-deportation process. Court records reveal that the prosecution did not oppose the motion. U.S. District Judge J. Paul Oetken approved the request, directing the passport to be handed over to her legal representatives.
Montrage was sentenced on June 28, 2024, after admitting her role in a large-scale fraud operation that targeted individuals and businesses across the U.S. between 2013 and 2019. Along with her sentence, the 32-year-old influencer was ordered to forfeit $216,475 and pay restitution of $1,387,458. She will also serve three years of supervised release once her sentence is completed.
This court ruling clears the path for Hajia 4Reall’s return to Ghana after finishing her sentence.
