The R&B legend plans to mark the milestone by releasing an expanded edition with three new songs to coincide with the 25th anniversary of his legendary second studio album.
The 10-track original album My Way will be included in its entirety in the My Way 25th Anniversary Edition, along with new renditions of the songs “My Way,” “Nice & Slow,” and “You Make Me Wanna” that were all created by Ryan James Carr. Usher’s most recent Tiny Desk performance, which has more than 11 million views, had an impact on the new songs, which also include instrumental versions.
In a new mini-documentary titled “Usher: 25 Years My Way,” the singer also looks back on his career. It details the album’s beginnings and cultural influence and includes personal interviews with Usher, Jermaine Dupri, and Ryan James Carr as well as behind-the-scenes footage of the creation of the three new versions.
