Usher Shares Heartwarming Beyoncé Memory: From Watching Over The Dolls to Collaborating.
In a recent captivating conversation on “Capital Breakfast With Roman Kemp,” the multiplatinum R&B sensation Usher unveiled a delightful tidbit from the past: he used to look out for none other than Beyoncé when she was part of the girl group The Dolls.
Despite being just three years older than the “Me, Myself, & I” songstress, Usher reminisced with the UK-based show host about a time when he considered it his responsibility to watch over the rising star. With enthusiasm, the “Confessions” singer recounted, “She was in a group called The Dolls. I’m not sure if I’d call myself their babysitter, but there was a period when I had the task of keeping an eye on The Dolls.”
He elaborated on this charming story, sharing, “I happened to be at Daryl Simmons’ place, where they were working on a session at that time. I sort of found myself in a role like — well, let’s say, chaperone, nanny, or something along those lines — being the oldest one in the room.”
Although Usher and Beyoncé were acquainted from their younger years, their official collaboration didn’t occur until 2008 when they jointly created “Love In This Club Pt. II,” featuring Lil Wayne. This dynamic trio made waves with an alternate version of the hit from the late 2000s by the Atlanta-born artist.
Both Usher and Beyoncé have been celebrated for their spectacular live performances. The “Good Kisser” performer has created viral moments by serenading various celebrities like Issa Rae, Saweetie, Winnie Harlow, and most notably, Keke Palmer. His interaction with Palmer sparked discussions across social media, causing a playful gender-related debate due to comments from her child’s father, Darius Jackson.
Meanwhile, Beyoncé is currently on her record-breaking “Renaissance World Tour,” captivating audiences in major cities around the globe. The tour’s star-studded atmosphere recently took the internet by storm when 21 Savage shared a video of himself singing along to multiple songs by the former Destiny’s Child member.
