Veteran Nollywood actor John Amaefule has been hospitalized after suffering a stroke.
The news was shared by fellow actor Stanley Ontop, who took to Instagram to confirm the unfortunate development and call for financial support from the public.
According to Stanley, the stroke has affected the left side of Amaefule’s brain, which may be causing weakness on the right side of his body. He revealed that the actor is currently receiving treatment at FMC Owerri, but urgent medical tests, including a lipid panel, hemoglobin A1C, and kidney function tests, are needed. The family has appealed to Nigerians for assistance to cover his medical expenses.
In another development, popular media personality Chinedu Ani Emmanuel, widely known as Nedu Wazobia, has addressed allegations of financial misconduct involving the Nedu Scholarship Foundation (NDSCHF).
Accusations against Nedu surfaced online following his recent Honest Bunch podcast episode featuring reality TV star Aderombi Adedayo Martin, popularly known as Deeone. During the conversation, Deeone alleged that social media critic Martin Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, was gay.
Shortly after, claims began circulating online, suggesting that Nedu had mismanaged funds intended for the scholarship initiative.
At a press conference in Lagos, Nedu refuted the allegations, emphasizing his dedication to education, philanthropy, and social impact. Through his brand management agency, Tokindrumz, he clarified that all donations for the NDSCHF initiative were managed by a globally recognized social enterprise, ensuring full transparency and accountability. He also stated that he never personally handled or controlled the funds.
In response to the false claims, Nedu announced plans to take legal action against those attempting to damage his reputation.
