Victor Moses Parts Ways with Luton Town After Challenging Season
Victor Moses has officially ended his stint with Luton Town following the club’s relegation to League One.
The 34-year-old winger, who joined the squad last July after a free transfer from Spartak Moscow, brought with him years of top-level experience. But things didn’t quite go as planned. Luton had a tough run throughout the season, struggling to stay afloat and ultimately landing in the relegation zone.
It’s a tough blow for a team that had only just dropped out of the Premier League the season before, hoping to bounce back stronger.
In a recent update, the club confirmed Moses will not be returning next season. He wasn’t the only one — veteran Dutch goalkeeper Tim Krul and others from the first team are also parting ways as their contracts expire.
Luton’s announcement also mentioned that Josh Bowler is heading back to Nottingham Forest after his loan period, and Kal Naismith will return to Bristol following the end of his half-season stay.
“We’re incredibly grateful to Kal, Tim, Victor, Jameson, and Josh for all they’ve given this season. We wish them all the best moving forward,” the statement read.
Despite a rough chapter at Luton, Moses leaves with a legacy few can match. His career includes title-winning moments at Chelsea — from lifting the Premier League trophy to hoisting the FA Cup and Europa League. And on the international stage, he’ll always be remembered for helping Nigeria clinch the 2013 AFCON title in South Africa.
