Victoria Beckham, the former Spice Girl turned fashion icon, opens up about her personal struggles and transformation in a new three-part Netflix documentary.
Set to premiere on Thursday, the 51-year-old, famously known as “Posh Spice,” reflects on her journey to build a name for herself in the fashion world after the Spice Girls disbanded.
“People thought I was this miserable woman who never smiled,” she admits, addressing the public’s long-standing perception of her.
While performing with the Spice Girls had always been her dream, Victoria says that when the group ended, she found a new passion and creative freedom in fashion.
The documentary, directed by Nadia Hallgren, shows a more vulnerable side of Beckham as she recalls facing harsh criticism: “She’s a pop star, she’s married to a footballer — who does she think she is?”
Looking back on her childhood, she shares that she never quite fit in but always longed for acceptance.

“I was that awkward, uncool kid who just wanted to be liked and feel like I mattered,” she says.
Now a mother of four and married to former football legend David Beckham, Victoria also opens up about the financial struggles of her fashion brand, which has yet to record an operating profit since its launch in 2008.
“At one point, we were millions in the red,” she reveals candidly.
The documentary also takes a nostalgic turn, revisiting the Spice Girls’ phenomenal success. The group shot to global fame in 1996 with their debut single Wannabe, promoting their unforgettable message of girl power.
They went on to sell over 85 million records worldwide, with nine of their eleven singles topping the UK charts and three breaking into the US top five.
Though the group split in 2000, they reunited for a world tour in 2007 and again in 2019 — though this time without Victoria.
It’s a heartfelt story of resilience, reinvention, and a woman who refused to let the world define her.
