Voting has begun in Amatutu, Agulu town in Nigeria’s south-eastern Anambra state’s polling unit 019, Ward 2.
Peter Nedum, 81, is the first person to vote in this election.

On Saturday morning, the peaceful town of Agulu slowly awoke as inhabitants began trickling to the polling station to cast their ballots.
Notwithstanding security worries in the region, voters appear keen to fulfill their civic duty.
In the run-up to the general election, armed gangs have been implicated for attacks in several regions of the region.
In this region, the separatist group Indigenous People of Biafra (Ipob) is active.
Simon Ekpa, a faction leader in the group, had urged locals in the region not to vote today.
Nonetheless, security officials have assured the public that they are on top of the situation and have advised individuals to continue with their normal activities.
